Kind of sad

A propósito de um vídeo no Youtube de um concerto dos Magnetic Fields em Cambridge, há quatro anos (com o Stephin Merritt muito mais magro do que actualmente, como eu o compreendo...), encontrei o seguinte comentário:

The crowd laughter bugs me. I mean, sure, these songs are witty and clever, but it just kind of cheapens the songs when they laugh after every goddamn line. Part of the coolness about the Fields is that they handle serious issues with a self-deprecating attitude. But, the issues are still clearly serious. Here, the audience just makes it all seem like a joke, which is kind of sad.

Senti exactamente o mesmo esta quinta-feira, na Aula Magna, e na maior parte dos espectáculos, incluindo cinema, a que assisto hoje em dia. As pessoas já não sabem sorrir.

Adenda: Ah! Também tenho culpas no cartório. Mas pelo menos, vá lá, a minha memória não é curta...
